According to Pearl Auto’s website Pearl Rear Vision is a solar-supplied backup camera for cars, which provides the driver with an extensive vision of the car’s surroundings. With futuristic image processing of “high dynamic range scenes”, the rearview screen is perceptible under daylight while the dark mode allows clear vision in a lesser light environment. It has an alert system that provides the driver with audio and visual alertness when there are obstructions to the lane caused by incoming traffic. The notifying alert could come in the form of a signal of ripple or tone, which becomes firmer as obstacles are within the near vicinity. The rearview camera is not only effortlessly set in place on a car’s number plate, but it also prevents thievery and uses the driver's phone via the Pearl application as the screen. For these reasons, while there are many similar products in the market, Pearl Rear Vision is a superior product which stood out as the best compared to its competitors as it offers many unique functions.
One such function of the Pearl Rear Vision is the capability of the drivers to use their smartphones such as Android or iPhone to navigate the view of the camera. In contrast, Pearl Rear Vision’s competitor, Garmin, has a similar product Garmin BC 30 that provides a similar function such as providing visual of incoming traffic to avoid accidents. However, the driver needs to buy an additional portable navigator component to synchronize with the camera to view the footage. Therefore, Pearl Rear Vision delivers greater convenience for drivers as smartphones can substitute as the navigator instead of purchasing one that sets Pearl Rear Vision apart from competitor’s product like Garmin BC 30.
Another function of Pearl Rear Vision would be the alert system that becomes firmer when obstacles are in closer proximity. This can help to alert the driver to obstacles and minimize the risk of potential accidents. In contrast, according to Garmin's website, Garmin BC 30 does not have the package deal that comes with an alert system which is an important function for a rearview camera. In addition, according to the user review done on the product, Garmin BC 30 have low video quality consistently.
A vital function that makes Pearl Rear Vision unique compared to other competitors would be an easy installation. Pearl Rear Vision's rearview camera can be set up easily without any drilling, wires or professional installation, which is hassle-free for users. In contrast, Garmin strongly advised users to get the experts in Garmin BC 30 to installed due to the complex installation required. According to a community forum for Garmin BC 30, many users had encounter problems with the installation of the Garmin BC 30. As an important factor, users consider when choosing a rearview camera would be the ease of installation, Pearl Rear Vision's rearview camera is a superior product compared to other competitors' products like Garmin BC 30.
In my opinion, I will strongly recommend Pearl Rear Vision as the unique functions offered by the product enhances the rearview camera a superior product by providing convenience for the users such as easy setup, an alert system as well as the pairing of the driver’s mobile phone with the camera, bringing the user futuristic product without the needs to bear the cost of changing a car after a few years. These array of functions, help to prevent and minimize road accidents, which is the ultimate purpose of the rearview camera.
